Arsham is an active member of the community. He is the founder of the Iranian Railroad for Queer Refugees. His work has earned him several human rights awards including the 2008 Felipa de Souza Award from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, the 2008 Pride Toronto Award for Excellency in Human Rights and the 2015 Logo International Trailblazer Award.
He is the author of “Exiled for Love” which became best seller in the first few weeks of its release. Exiled for Love explores the reality for LGBT people in Iran through the deeply personal and inspiring story of his life, escape and continuing work.
